Overview
The Falcon Heritage Exhibition (FHE), organized by the Saudi Falcon Club, is one of the region’s most prestigious events celebrating the cultural, ecological, and historical significance of falcons. NXT Interactive was invited to conceptualize, design, and develop a complete digital edutainment ecosystem for this event — a suite of six interactive games and an integrated registration, leaderboard, and admin system that brought falconry to life through innovation and play. Our goal was to blend immersive storytelling with hands-on learning, allowing visitors to understand falcon anatomy, care, lifecycle, training, and hunting through touch, gesture, and VR-based interactions.
The result was a fully interconnected digital experience that elevated FHE into an interactive learning destination — merging technology with tradition.
1. Falcon Vet
Step into the world of falcon medicine.
In this touchscreen-based simulation, users act as veterinarians diagnosing sick falcons. They’re presented with one of three randomized disease scenarios, each requiring correct identification of symptoms, tool selection, and treatment steps.
The intuitive interface guides users through:
Visual symptom diagnosis
Interactive tool selection
Correct treatment administration
The experience ends with a knowledge-based quiz, testing users’ understanding of falcon health management.
Learning Objective:
To educate visitors about the care, diseases, and treatments related to falcons, fostering compassion and scientific curiosity.
2. Falcon Assembly
Discover falcon anatomy through interactive play.
Falcon Assembly transforms biology into a fun challenge. Players choose between two falcon species and piece together their anatomy by dragging and placing organs, feathers, and bones onto a silhouette.
Each correct placement unlocks a short informational video, explaining the importance and function of that body part. Upon completion, users enter a hotspot exploration mode, allowing them to tap on different body parts to learn more about each one’s purpose.
Learning Objective:
To make learning about falcon anatomy engaging through visual memory and interactive discovery.
3. Falcon VR Training
Train, bond, and master the art of falconry.
In this virtual reality experience, users become falcon trainers, entering a serene desert environment where they learn traditional training tools and techniques.
Participants are guided step-by-step through:
Selecting and equipping the falcon with a hood and glove
Using a lure and perch for training
Understanding trust-building and recall training
After completing the training, users take a short in-VR quiz to reinforce key learnings.
4. Falcon Prey Hunt
Fly like a falcon, hunt with precision.
This full-body motion-controlled experience uses Kinect Sensor technology to track user movements as they control a virtual falcon in flight.
By leaning, diving, and gliding, players hunt for correct prey and must avoid incorrect targets within a time limit. After gameplay, a short educational video on falcon hunting techniques and a timer-based quiz enhance knowledge retention.
Learning Objective:
To offer a thrilling understanding of falcon hunting instincts, precision, and ecological balance through physical engagement.
5. Falcon Lifecycle
Follow the falcon’s journey from egg to adulthood.
Using Leap Motion gesture control, this experience allows users to explore the different life stages of a falcon through hand gestures from egg incubation and hatching to juvenile and adult phases.
The game transitions into a drag-and-match mini-game, where players match cards representing behaviors and visuals to their corresponding life stage. Upon successful completion, users can scan a QR code to download a personalized participation certificate.
Learning Objective:
To educate visitors on falcon biology and breeding through natural, gesture-based interaction.
6. Falcon Knowledge Quiz
Test your skills. Prove your mastery.
Once participants complete all five interactive games, they unlock a final knowledge challenge a random set of five questions drawn from a pool of 15, covering the entire learning journey.
Scores from all games are automatically synced to the leaderboard system, encouraging friendly competition among participants.
Learning Objective:
To reinforce learning outcomes and motivate users through points, scores, and achievements.
